NEC came to Namebase needing a name for their new shock- and water-resistant mobile device designed for the most rugged environments. With a target market of military and field technicians, the device required a name that communicated durability, the outdoors as well as intelligent features. The name Terrain was a perfect fit as it does double-duty suggesting both a stretch of land and a field of expansive knowledge.
